Basically the problem is i can't get the right joystick to become the aim(bare with me, i was having trouble describing it), while i ccan get the left joystick to become my move and strafe.

When I open x360ce, it's blank, which happens when you first start the program, but it usually loads a short time later.
DPAD_DOWN, DPAD_LEFT, DPAD_RIGHT are keyboard key and not controller buttons and you can't map it in tool like x360ce or other tools that remap a real controller buttons and axis.
Because I'm pretty sure they don't work with with Xinput, which is the API used for gamepads and also what I use to get the input.

DPad from PS3 pad cannot be mapped in x360ce as it is not detected as pad button but keyboard arrows.
The same goes for the axis (sticks), where you can either assign only the X and Y axis for each axis, or the 4 directions individually for each axis.
All you have to do for yours is to delete all keys except the spacebar and the arrow keys, which shouldn't be to hard.
If so you might be able to bind the different buttons to xbox controller buttons and then use them in the overlay.
